Imagine What Can Happen Around One Table.

Imagine six or eight people sitting down together for a delicious Indian meal. Some may have met before. Others may be complete strangers. They come from different backgrounds, different professions, different generations and different walks of life.

But for the next hour or two, none of those differences matter.

They are simply neighbours, sharing wonderful food, exchanging stories, laughing together and discovering how much they have in common.

That is the idea behind The Community Table.

Bringing Our Community Together — One Meal at a Time

At The Gathering at Express Indien, we believe that some of the most meaningful things in life begin with something wonderfully simple: people sitting down together and sharing a meal.

The Community Table is an invitation to people from every corner of NDG and the surrounding communities to come together in small groups of six to eight.

We hope to welcome teachers, business owners, students, seniors, artists, healthcare professionals, faith leaders, community volunteers, parents, neighbours and people from every walk of life.

There are no speeches to prepare, no presentations to deliver and no particular agenda to follow.

Just good people, wonderful Indian food and the opportunity to get to know one another.

From Strangers to Friends

We live in a world where people can spend years living in the same neighbourhood without ever really getting to know one another.

We pass each other on the sidewalk. We shop in the same stores. Our children attend the same schools. Yet so often, we remain strangers.

The Community Table is our small way of changing that.

Perhaps a young entrepreneur will meet a retired business owner with a lifetime of wisdom to share. Perhaps a teacher will meet someone who can help a student. Perhaps two neighbours will discover a common interest and become lifelong friends.

Or perhaps eight people will simply enjoy a wonderful lunch together and leave with smiles on their faces.

Every one of those outcomes would make The Community Table a success.

A Place Where Everyone Belongs

Our vision for The Gathering is about much more than creating a successful restaurant.

We want Express Indien to become a place where people feel welcome, appreciated and connected. A place where friendships begin, ideas are exchanged, and the bonds that make a community special grow stronger.

We believe that when people get to know one another, wonderful things can happen.

And sometimes, all it takes is an invitation to lunch.

Whether you are actively involved in the community or simply someone who would enjoy meeting a few new friends, we would love to welcome you.

You don't need to represent an organization. You don't need a special title. You don't need to bring anything other than yourself, a friendly spirit and an appetite for delicious Indian cuisine.

Come as you are. Share a meal. Meet some neighbours. Discover what we might accomplish together.

Because a stronger community doesn't begin with a grand plan. It begins with people who care enough to sit down together.

And there is always room for another friend at The Community Table.
