🌍 A Message to the World: Faith at the Center of Community

Transformation

From Ross Harvey — Founder, The NDG Project & Faith at the Center Initiative

To the People of NDG, and to Faith Communities Across the World:

Our world stands on the threshold of profound change.
In every nation and every community, people are searching for meaning, justice, peace, and hope. Yet in this time of uncertainty and division, I believe that the greatest untapped force for renewal and unity is already among us — it is Faith.

Faith, when placed at the center of human life, has the power to heal, to lift, to build, and to transform. And so today, I call upon Faith Institutions everywhere — churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and spiritual communities of all kinds — to rise together in a new global mission:

To lead the transformation of our communities through Faith at the Center.

The Vision: Faith as the Foundation of Renewal

The NDG Project was born from a conviction — that our communities can become models of love, compassion, sustainability, and abundance if we are willing to rebuild them on the principles of Spirit.

Through the Faith at the Center initiative, I am calling upon Faith Institutions everywhere to become the architects of this renewal — to take up leadership not just in worship, but in every sphere of community life.

Our framework for this transformation is defined through the 12 Pillars of Community Transformation — a holistic model through which faith, compassion, and creativity can reshape the way we live, learn, work, and care for one another.

🌿 The 12 Pillars of Community Transformation

Each pillar represents an essential foundation for a thriving community — and each is uniquely strengthened when faith stands at the center.

1. Spiritual Life & Faith

Faith communities are called to awaken souls — to restore peace, love, and divine purpose in the lives of individuals and families. Through interfaith mentoring, prayer circles, and compassionate outreach, our places of worship can once again become true sanctuaries of healing and hope.

2. Education

True education prepares not just the mind, but the heart. Faith Institutions can partner with schools, parents, and mentors to establish Schools of Heaven — integrating wisdom, compassion, and practical life skills into every stage of learning.

3. Health & Wellness

The health of the body, mind, and spirit are one. Through wellness clinics, support groups, and community care programs, faith communities can help restore wholeness to those burdened by illness, addiction, trauma, or despair.

4. Food Security & Agriculture

Every person deserves access to nourishing, local, and sustainable food. Faith Institutions can lead the way through community gardens, food forests, cooperative kitchens, and farm-to-table initiatives that ensure no one goes hungry.

5. Housing & Architecture

A home is more than shelter — it is dignity and belonging. Faith groups can help design and advocate for eco-villages, cooperative housing, and community spaces built in the spirit of beauty, peace, and sacred geometry.

6. Economic Development (Moneyless Transition)

We envision an economy rooted not in greed, but in generosity. Through Gift Economy projects, time banks, and community sharing networks, faith communities can model a world where value is measured by service and contribution, not by currency.

7. Environmental Sustainability

Creation is sacred. Faith communities can inspire environmental stewardship — from renewable energy projects and urban rewilding to zero-waste living and green innovation — reminding humanity that the Earth is God’s garden, not our possession.

8. Animal Welfare

Our compassion must extend to all living beings. Through rescue initiatives, humane education, and partnerships for ethical treatment, faith institutions can nurture a culture of love that embraces every creature.

9. Arts, Music & Culture

Art is the language of the soul. Faith-based creative hubs can cultivate beauty, storytelling, music, and expression that uplift hearts, heal trauma, and unite people beyond division.

10. Sports, Play & Recreation

Healthy play builds community. Through youth programs, coaching, and inclusive recreation, faith centers can make joy, teamwork, and active living part of spiritual formation.

11. Social Services & Mental Health

In a world burdened by loneliness, anxiety, and disconnection, Faith Institutions can lead in care — offering counseling, mentorship, “Love Response Teams,” and compassionate listening. Here, faith becomes love in action.

12. Safety, Justice & Peacebuilding

Where there is faith, there must also be peace. Through restorative justice circles, community peacekeeping, and conflict resolution, Faith Institutions can be bridges of healing — modeling forgiveness, justice, and nonviolence.

A Global Call to Faith Leaders and Believers

I call upon pastors, priests, imams, rabbis, monks, elders, ministers, and spiritual teachers of every tradition:
Let us unite in one sacred purpose — to rebuild the world through the moral, spiritual, and practical strength of Faith.

Let each Faith Institution become a pillar-bearing hub, embodying the values of love, generosity, and cooperation in tangible ways that uplift our people and protect our planet.

Let us show the world that Faith is not a retreat from reality — it is the most powerful force for positive change within it.

To the People of NDG and Beyond

NDG is where this vision takes root — a living example of what happens when spiritual and civic life move in harmony. But this movement is not limited by geography. It belongs to every neighborhood, every faith, every person who believes that we can live in peace, share in abundance, and care for one another as one human family.

The time has come to restore Faith to its rightful place — at the center of human life and community design. Together, we can ignite a transformation that ripples from our neighborhoods to the nations of the world.

Together, Let Us Build the New Dawn

Let us build a world where faith and action are one.
Where no one is hungry, homeless, or alone.
Where justice is restorative, and creation is revered.
Where love — not money, not power, not fear — defines how we live.

This is the vision of Faith at the Center.
This is the promise of the 12 Pillars of Community Transformation.
And this is our sacred calling — to build the world anew, in faith, with faith, and through faith.
